Batam is a small tiny sland of Indonesia. It's population is around 1 million people with many factories, towns, shopping centres and gateway to the other surrounding Riau Islands. The distance between Batam and Singapore is only 20km and it only takes about 35 minutes by ferry from Singapore Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal or World Trade Centre.
